The Residence

This graceful hotel sits in 25 acres of lush tropical gardens on one of the best beaches on the east coast of Mauritius – a kilometre of powdery white sand approximately an hour’s drive from the airport. The hotel resembles a turn of the century plantation house and the style is colonial chic. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
The hotel’s stunning public areas are complemented by truly excellent service. The 163 stylish rooms and suites are large, with attractive marble bathrooms and dressing rooms and equipped with everything you might need, including butler service. For families there is a range of suites and interconnecting rooms to choose from – all with balcony or terrace and spectacular views. Connecting rooms can accommodate up to four adults and two children or suites can sleep two adults and two children.

The hotel has a gorgeous beach-front, free-form swimming pool, a children’s pool, three restaurants, an excellent spa and three tennis courts. Tucked away amongst the trees is The Planters Kids Club with its own clubhouse and grounds and a fleet of babysitters for younger children and evening care. The bar has entertainment after dinner in the evenings encouraging you to stay and enjoy a night-cap to the accompaniment of live jazz or blues.

Eating & Sleeping
Specially designed meals and children’s menus are on offer to tempt even the pickiest of eaters and evening entertainment, plays, films and fairy tale activities will create lasting memories for the younger members of the family. Babysitting is available and needs to be booked three hours ahead. The rates are 250 Rs – 400 Rs per hour depending on the time of day.

Activities
If guests tire of sitting on the beach or by the pools, a wide variety of complimentary water sports are available including windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling trips and water skiing and there is horse riding and a number of excellent golf courses close by.

Specifically for children …
Specialising in catering to families, the hotel hosts a range of activities to keep kids occupied for hours on end. Open from 9am to 10pm the Planters Kids Club has supervised activities for ages three to 12 including:

• Cooking classes
• Body painting
• Fashion shows
There is also a small selection of organised activities for teenagers. Under threes are welcome to use the kids club with a parent or babysitter.
