The Victoria Falls Hotel

The Victoria Falls Hotel, popularly known as ‘the grand old lady of the Falls’, is situated in the Victoria Falls National Park, a world heritage site, with a wonderful view down the Batoka Gorge to the historic bridge over the Zambezi. The Edwardian-style five-star hotel, built in 1904, combines the charm of the old with the convenience of the new. Set in lush tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees and semi-tropical shrubs, the hotel is just a ten-minute walk away from the Victoria Falls. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
The ambience of the Victoria Falls Hotel is steeped in history. It has 148 air-conditioned rooms which have a television, tea and coffee, a safe, wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. There are no family rooms but interconnecting rooms are offered to families. The standard room services include same day laundry and 24 hour room service. On the complex you will find a large swimming pool with a shallow end and steps, two tennis courts, spa, a library, reading rooms, curio shop and chapel. he hotel has a fine dining restaurant, the Livingstone Room, two more informal restaurants, and a poolside barbecue for lunches, as well as two bars. Golfers can enjoy 18 holes on the championship course of the nearby sister hotel, Elephant Hills Resort.

Eating & Sleeping
Separate mealtimes and dietary requests can be accommodated for children with advance warning. Babysitting is available at a charge of US$10 per hour.

Wildlife & Activities
The Victoria Falls Hotel is an ideal base for visiting Victoria Falls and offers a wide variety of activities including sunset and sunrise boat trips, bird walks and ‘Livingstone Day’ (Livingstone Museum, markets and lunch by the Falls), white water rafting, and helicopter flights over the Victoria Falls. For guests who wish to see some wildlife, the Zambezi National Park is a short drive away.

Activities and excursions can be organised via the on site activity centre. Please note that adrenaline sports carry a minimum age restriction of 12 years and above.
