Vamizi Private Villas

Vamizi is a 12km finger of land just off the coast of Palma in the far north of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique’s northern-most province. The forested interior hosts a wealth of animal and bird species, and the surrounding sea is rich in coral and 400 species of reef fish. Two different species of turtle (hawksbill and green) nest on the island’s beaches. Blessed with a tropical climate and offering immaculate powder-soft beaches that rival those of the Maldives, Vamizi is the perfect escape for families and groups. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
Six individually designed luxury villas are scattered along the edge of idyllic Vamizi island each with five or six bedrooms sleeping 12 – 16 guests. Each luxury villa is uniquely designed with stylish fabrics, driftwood, treehouses and Balinese and Arabic influences. As well as internal dining and relaxing areas, each villa has a number of en-suite bedrooms and peaceful lounging spaces around private pools or on the beach. Villa Suluwilo (five bedrooms sleeps 12 guests) is particularly suited to families with small children The villa boasts four beautifully adorned en-suite rooms and a children’s room with bunkbeds and an adjoining childminder’s room. The master bedroom features a small area, with two single beds for children.

The private chef and personal hospitality team will ensure all needs are met, from tailor-made menus to organising activities.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and a children’s menu is provided, requests are also welcome. A babysitting service is available and is provided by the lodge butlers who are experienced in looking after children. The cost is US$5 per hour and should be booked on the day of arrival at the lodge.

Wildlife & Activities
Whilst staying at Vamizi, guests can simply relax on the beach, or enjoy world-class diving and snorkelling at one of the top ten dive sites in the world, Neptune’s Arm. There is excellent fishing around the island and professional guides are available to accompany guests into the island interior either on foot or by vehicle. Spa treatments are available, as well as windsurfing, dinghy sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Wildlife includes turtles, dolphins, birds and seasonal whale-watching.
