Verney’s Camp

Verney’s Camp sits in the edge of a Zambezi teak forest overlooking Verney’s Pan, a large waterhole, deep inside Hwange National Park, the largest in Zimbabwe. The camp is in a 10,000 hectare private concession, and has an excellent view of the pan, and of the prolific wildlife that visits it.

Accommodation & Facilities

Verney’s Camp has ten classic style safari tents set on low level teak decks, including two set up for families with two bedrooms. The tents are all designed to make the most of the view over the pan, with bathroom and bedroom arranged side by side. They all have en-suite bathrooms, with flush loos and plumbed in hot and cold showers. The bedrooms have big beds, armchairs, plenty of storage, and a shaded verandah at the front. The camps has a dining tent and a lounge tent, and a pool for warmer days.

Wildlife & Activities

Hwange has a wealth of wildlife, which includes some of Africa’s largest herds of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, kudu, eland, roan and sable antelope, and hippo. Day and evening drives are offered at Verney’s, as well as walking safaris with expert guides.
