Wolwedans Dune Camp
Wolwedans Dune Camp sits amidst the dunes in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve in Namibia, about an hour and a half’s drive from the entrance to the Sossusvlei dunes.
Accommodation & Facilities
Wolwedans Dune Camp is located on the edge of a 250 metre high dune providing stunning views of the valley below and the distant Losberg Mountains. The accommodation for 12 people is in six rustic but comfortable and stylish tents pitched on wooden platforms. Each tent has a spacious veranda allowing for safe sleep-outs under the stars. There is a private ensuite bathroom, with a flush loo, a powerful shower with solar heated water, and plentiful space for unpacking. The main building is a short distance away, is also built on stilts and comprises an open kitchen where guests can chat to the chef while food is prepared, and intimate dining room and an open-air bar. The main lodge also houses a library and lounge.
Wildlife & Activities
Guests are encouraged to go on full day desert drives into the deeper regions of the reserve, accompanied by one of Wolwedans’ expert guides. You can also go on guided walks in the area, and enjoy picnics in the wild and sun-downers on the dunes, or enjoy riding a ‘fat E bike’ with wide tyres for floating over sand. Scenic flights and ballooning can be arranged at an extra cost.
