Can Grandpa come on safari too?

Large family holiday in Botswana, multi-generation safaris

It’s not just the young who enjoy safari holidays. We have a number of clients who are travelling well into their eighties, and with our knowledge of literally hundreds of properties we can suggest accommodation and activities to suit all ages. If grandparents want to bring the family then that’s possible too – we’ve organised plenty very successful multi-generation trips for any number of family members.

Activities are flexible in the small camps and lodges we use so if you don’t fancy a game drive one morning and just want to relax that’s no problem. If you are travelling as a family group then it’s easily possible to arrange a walk for some members of the family while others take a gentle game drive before everyone meets up for brunch in the bush.

With 14 countries to choose from, an enormous variety of camps, and a great range of activities, we’ll take on the challenge of planning a trip for any age – and would be confident of pulling it off in style. Even if safari is only a vague idea give us a call we’re always happy to talk about Africa, however far in the future your plans may be.

I’m in the beginning stages of planning a safari for my extended family, 11 in total with 6 grand children between 11 and 21. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled with game rides for a few days but they’ll need something with more active to keep them engaged. I’m thinking along the lines of fishing, horseback rides, ATV rides, mountain biking, tracking hikes, swimming, paddling and visits to native villages. Can you make some suggestions?
We don’t need pampering but outhouses don’t appeal!

Thanks for the question. It’s perfect for us as we’ve been making suggestions and helping plan safaris and multigenerational family safaris since 1999. I will ask one of the team to get in touch and take a few more details before coming up with some ideas for you all
