Holidays to dream of – Soak up the sun in Mauritius
Mauritius is an Indian Ocean island of dramatic mountains, inland rainforests, gorgeous beaches and coastal lagoons, and is a perfect spot to soak up the sun on a stand-alone beach holiday or as an addition to a safari. Much of the coastline is protected from the open sea by the world’s third largest coral reef ensuring plenty of sheltered swimming spots amid the crystal clear waters and powder white sands.

Despite a wealth of things to do and see in Mauritius, most visitors find the sweet temptations of the major coastal resorts – the spas, the golf courses, the restaurants, the swimming pools – quite enough to fill their time. The facilities are excellent, the cuisine wonderful and attention to detail means your every whim will be satisfied.
There are wonderfully family friendly hotels with excellent kids’ clubs, safe beaches for youngsters but plenty for teens too with tennis, golf, sailing and a variety of motorised water sports. Honeymooners and couples looking for a relaxing break will find luxury private suites and villas, private dining and truly superb service. It’s the sort of place where you can find plenty to do but can also relax totally.
A wealth of activities, including golf and water sports, on offer at Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa
The island’s east coast, with a string of exquisite coves and emerald lagoons, is home to some of the best-known hotels, with the likes of One&Only Le Saint Géran, Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice strung along the coastline. Further to the south, on the stunning Le Morne Peninsula, are Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa, an outstanding spot for a family holiday with the widest range of activities of any hotel on the island, and Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa, an elegant and tranquil spot ideal for a refresh and reset.

The north coast is the most developed tourist region, with Grande Baie recognised as the nightlife (such as it is) capital of the island. Other northern attractions include the Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens and Choisy Beach – one of the longest on the island. 20 Degrees Sud, Paradise Cove, and Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury are all excellent choices here.
