The Hide Safari Camp

The Hide Safari Camp is one of only a few camps to be positioned inside Hwange National Park and is on its own private concession. One of Zimbabwe’s most famous national parks, Hwange offers superb wildlife viewing in majestic surroundings, and The Hide overlooks a waterhole which attracts wildlife throughout the year.

Accommodation & Facilities
The Hide has ten large, comfortable, fully furnished tents each with an outdoor shower, bath with good views and flush loo. Two of the tents have been designed with families in mind with an additional bedroom area accommodating up to three children. Each tent has a private verandah overlooking the waterhole. One wing of the camp can be taken as the Private Hide, with two or three tents sharing a deck and a pool. The main building is built on two floors and offers plenty of space for relaxing, views over the waterhole, a separate bar, an outdoor dining area and a pool deck. Nearby, Tom’s Little Hide is a private family safari house with three rooms, and similarly excellent views to the waterhole.

Wildlife & Activities
The two concealed hides set on either side of The Hide’s waterhole offer a great vantage point from which to watch wildlife at very close quarters. Herds of elephant, buffalo and many others are drawn to the waterhole providing some excellent photographic opportunities. Day and night game drives and guided bush walks are on offer in addition to the opportunity to visit the tree house for a sleep-out or for a peaceful afternoon. As well as the big wildlife, Hwange is a birding mecca with around 412 species identified to date. For more adventurous couples, the Dovesnest tree house is perfect for an overnight stay.
