Exclusively Yours – Kenya

Kenya offers some really special places to stay that can be taken on an exclusive basis whether you are two people or twelve and on safari or at the beach. With its amazing wildlife and pristine white sand beaches, the country has plenty to offer including superb camps to cater for all. It really is one of our clients’ favourite countries.

Cottar’s Bush Villa followed by an Alfajiri Villa

For a big family or group of friends, these two offer perfect combination of luxury and privacy.

Cottar’s Bush Villa is an exclusive use villa that sits in a private conservancy just outside of the stunning Masai Mara National Reserve with the Olderikesi Hills as a backdrop. The Bush Villa’s hillside setting provides stunning views of the savannah plains and plenty of opportunities to view the wildlife that inhabits it. The location also provides guests a great chance to witness the annual wildebeest migration along with privately guided wildlife drives, night drives, bush walks and many other activities. The Bush Villa is made up of five double bedrooms, a large living area, a dining room and a spacious deck providing glorious views.

Combining time in the bush with an escape to the beach is a winning combination for Aardvark Safaris’ guests and Kenya offers a host of exclusive beach stays including Alfajiri Villas, on the lively south coast.

Alfajrii is made up of three separate, spacious, luxury villas set on the sheltered coral cliff above Diani beach. Each villa can be taken separately and accommodates between six and ten guests, so whether you choose to fill all three to the brim with family or take just one and have a memorable getaway with friends, there is always plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The villas boast stunning views down to the sea and each has its own private pool. Meals can be taken wherever guests choose and are prepared however they wish, adding an even more special touch to an amazing holiday.

Angama Safari Camp

Deep within the magnificent Masai Mara, Angama Safari Camp is a luxury, sole-use tented camp, offering an abundance of wildlife right on its doorstep. While it can be booked by just a couple, there is enough room for up to eight guests in the four luxury tents. The camp’s resident wildlife includes prides of lion, cheetah, large elephant herds, buffalo and ample plains wildlife. With only canvas to separate you from the world outside, a stay at Angama provides a thrillingly immersive experience.

Aiming to make guests step back and think “all this just for me” Angama Safari Camp expertly combines sophistication and simplicity, with each detail considered to create an unforgettable stay. Each of the guest tents is designed in a landscape orientation, the open side maximising the breath-taking views of the Masai Mara’s plains.

Nay Palad Bird Nest at Segera

The Nay Palad Bird Nest offers guests the opportunity to stay in accommodation like no other. The beautiful, raised structure offers a 360-degree birds view of the surrounding wilderness. A collaboration between Segera, Nay Palad and architect Daniel Pouzet, the Nest is set in the heart of the Laikipia plains and perched amid the treetops, near a river teeming with wildlife. Guests have the chance to wake to the sounds of the bush and the wildlife; elephants, giraffes and other animals drinking at the nearby river.

Designed to sleep two people, but also suitable for a family of four, the two-floor structure has a sheltered first floor and an open-air top deck, where guests can watch sunset. Those staying will be served delicious food in a lantern lit setting before falling asleep under the stars if they choose. The Nest is perfect for a one-night stay following a wildlife drive or bush walk in the area.

Walk between Kicheche’s Mara camps or with Karisia Walking Safaris’ camels

Alongside villas, camps and sleepouts, it’s possible to enjoy a mobile trip on an exclusive basis with just you, your guide and a camp team

Kicheche offer walks between two of their Masai Mara camps with a stay in a simple camp in between. Starting with two nights in the luxurious Kicheche Valley Camp, where you will be able to unwind from travelling and get to know the area, the walk will then set off across beautiful valleys, with plenty of opportunities to examine spoor (tracks and dung) en route, accompanied by your expert guide.

Following 3-4 hours of walking you will arrive at your simple mobile camp at the Western side of the Naboisho Conservancy, a chance to spend an exciting night immersed in the landscape. The mobile camp is staffed with a cook and camp hand and two-man dome tents are set up to offer a comfortable bed for the night.

The second day of walking will show you more points of interest before making your way to Kicheche Bush Camp, located in a prime wildlife hotspot of the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. The walking is not strenuous and, as the trip is taken on an exclusive basis, can be adjusted for different levels of fitness.

Another exciting and exclusive opportunity is the chance to experience a walking safari supported by camels. Karisia Walking Safaris offers a wide range of trips, which we will tailor to suit your needs, and changes can be made day by day during the trip depending on how you feel and what you see.
