Beach Lodge

The Beach Lodge is ten minutes’ drive to the north of the centre of Swakopmund on Namibia’s Atlantic coast and is right on the beach.

Accommodation & Facilities
The 15 twin and family rooms are comfortable with en-suite facilities. It has the feel of modern apartments in a nice setting with great views. There is a restaurant for breakfast.

Wildlife & Activities
With sea mist rolling in on many mornings and then east winds in the afternoon, Swakopmund isn’t a classic seaside resort. However there is plenty in the area to keep visitors occupied for a couple of nights and there are a number of activities available either in Swakopmund or nearby Walvis Bay. Quad bike excursions head inland into the dunes, whilst lie-down or stand-up sandboarding makes use of the dunes’ relationship with gravity. Boat, catamaran and kayak trips to see the seal colonies on Pelican Point are available from Walvis Bay – dolphins can also sometimes be seen here. The lagoon is a great place for sea birds with large numbers of pelicans, among others, present in the summer.
