Astove Coral House

The pristine Astove Atoll is one of the most remote of the Seychelles outer islands, and more than 600 miles from Mahe. The atoll is two hours by air from the nearest airstrip on Alphonse island, and closer to Madagascar than the Seychelles inner islands.

Accommodation & facilities

Astove Coral House is the only property on the island. Six comfortable rooms, accommodating a maximum of 12 guests, are arranged around a central courtyard, and have en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. The lodge has a lovely dining room and bar and plenty of shaded spaces to relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings.

Wildlife & Activities

The atoll is known for its incredible marine biodiversity, and the central lagoon and surrounding waters are home to a huge variety of corals and fish, making it a superb destination for scuba diving and snorkelling, with the drop off at the Astove Wall being well known among keen divers. The lagoon is home to countless seabirds such as the Caspian turn, crab plover, dimorphic egret and red-tailed tropic bird, and the island has population of over 150 giant Aldabra tortoises. Astove offers some of the finest fly fishing and deep sea fishing in the Indian Ocean, thanks to the wealth of resident and pelagic species thriving here.
