Eulophiella Lodge

Named after the Eulophiella orchid, which grows throughout Madagascar, Eulophiella Lodge is located in a secluded valley surrounded by rainforest far from the crowds and is 140 km from Antananarivo and close to Andasibe and Mantadia Reserves – albeit along a very rough track. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are 17 simple bungalows at Eulophiella, well-spaced in beautiful well maintained gardens. There are ten wooden “Ascendants” bungalows and seven larger and more substantial “Parfums d’Orangers” which are two and three bedroomed family bungalows. Each room has en-suite bathroom facilities, hot water and mosquito nets. Electricity is provided by generator which is switched off at 10pm each evening providing guests with peace and tranquillity to enjoy the surrounding nature. The main areas include a lounge with open fire and dining area with a large verandah, on which meals can be taken overlooking the surrounding hills.

Eating & Sleeping
The chefs are happy to prepare child friendly food and will discuss children’s dietary preferences with parents on arrival. If there are any specific dietary requests, please advise prior to travel. There are no formal childcare facilities at the lodge although a babysitter can be brought in to look after the children. Prior booking is required.

Wildlife & Activities
While staying at Eulophiella Lodge guests can explore the nearby Andasibe (Perinet) National Park. Accompanied by your driver and local guide you can explore this famous reserve on foot, both by night and day, at your own pace. The park is renowned for its variety of diurnal and nocturnal species, and is probably best known for the Indri Indri – the largest member of the lemur family whose eerie call can be heard through the thick canopy of the rainforest at first light. With such a wide variety of nocturnal wildlife, night walks are not to be missed.

Specifically for children….
The staff here are friendly and attentive but there are no specific facilities for children.
