Kambaku River Sands

Kambaku River Sands is situated beside a river in a peaceful part of the Timbavati Game Reserve, which has an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park.  The lodge sits in a grove of large and shady trees.

Accommodation & Facilities
There are ten thatched suites, each with a private deck, a great place to view the local wildlife passing by.  Each suite has air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom with bath, a double shower and separate loo, and an outdoor shower. The lodge has an infinity pool, a wrap-around bar with ice-cold craft beer on tap, a sunken wine cellar overlooking the waterhole and two inviting fireplaces.  Kambaku River Sands also has a raised bird hide, and spa and gym facilities. Enjoy an adventurous night out in the overnight hide set on the banks of the Nduna Dam.  This three-tiered luxury hide boasts a living area, an en-suite bathroom complete with luxurious gown and slippers and a stargazing deck with fireplace. Meals are often eaten outside, either on the deck, in the boma, or in the river bed when conditions permit.

Wildlife & Activities
The wildlife that can be seen in Timbavati includes lion, leopard, elephant, wild dog, buffalo, giraffe, hyena, zebra, and numerous bird species. Kambaku offers morning and afternoon wildlife drives and walking safaris, with experienced and knowledgeable guides.  Guests can also spend time in the bird hide or sitting beside the waterhole.
