Kyaninga Lodge

Kyaninga Lodge is perched on the rim of Lake Kyaninga, a pretty crater lake, and enjoys far reaching views across to the Rwenzori Mountains, or the ‘Mountains of the Moon’ as they are commonly known.  Located in the west of Uganda this lodge is approximately 45 minutes from Kibale Forest National Park and two hours from Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities
The nine en-suite bedrooms at Kyaninga Lodge are arranged either side of the main area, along the crater rim, and are connected by raised wooden walkways, with stunning views in each direction.  The en-suite bedrooms feature free-standing baths and walk in showers as well as a verandah overlooking the lake.  Two of nine bedrooms are perfect for families with twin beds in a gallery upstairs.  The main lodge has a series of terraces, one with a swimming pool, as well as a dining room, indoor sitting room and bar which features an open fire.

Wildlife & Activities
From Kyaninga Lodge it is possible to track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, which is home to the largest concentration of this species in Africa.  Other wildlife you may encounter in the forest includes wonderful birds and the chance to see some of the other 12 primate species this forest is home to.  Other activities on the property include swimming in the crater lake, badminton, tennis, nature walks or croquet.
