Princesse Bora Lodge

Princesse Bora Lodge is on the west coast of Ile Saint Marie, just a few hundred metres from the airport on the island’s southern tip. Built and managed by Francois-Xavier, originally from Switzerland, it has set a new high standard of accommodation on the island. Children of all ages are welcome.

Accommodation & Facilities
The hotel has 20 bungalows spread throughout pretty grounds. All the rooms of Princess Bora have views of the sea, but they are not all directly on the shoreline, some being behind others. There are family rooms sleep up to four with parents in a double bed and children under 12 years in two junior beds. The rooms are comfortably furnished as are the en-suite bathrooms. Each room has a fan and a verandah. The hotel has cleverly split its restaurant into two to give a more intimate atmosphere. There is a bar and separate lounge.

Eating & Sleeping
Children’s meals are available at times to suit and options include favourites such as spaghetti bolognaise, pizza, meat with vegetables etc.  A baby-sitting service is available and can be provided for couple hours, or for full day. The baby sitting service is free of charge during the day (subject to availability) or US$2 per hour for night time babysitting.

Wildlife & Activities
The beach at Princesse Bora is protected by a bank of coral and is ideal for divers and snorkelling. Between July and September there is excellent whale watching as humpback whales congregate in these waters to give birth and mate. Guests can waterski as well as take boat and 4 x 4 excursions. Motorbikes and bikes are available for rent.

Specifically for children …
There is a DVD room for children and also games. The minimum age for snorkelling and water-skiing is 12 years and parents are required to accompany their children.  Appropriately sized life jackets are available for children.
