The Retreat By Heaven has 20 air-conditioned rooms including deluxe and superior suites and pool villas, all with private patios and en-suite bathrooms. The pool villas have saltwater, solar-heated plunge pools and front and back gardens. The hotel has a health fitness centre with a great gym, spa, saltwater swimming pool and hot tub. Exercise classes are offered by expert instructors, from yoga to cardio. The hotel is home to the award-winning Heaven Restaurant and fine dining restaurant, Fusion.

The Retreat offers a variety of interesting cultural activities, including banana beer making and cocktail mixing, and exploring the local farmer’s market followed by an interactive cooking class. These hands-on experiences immerse guests in local traditions from mashing bananas to crafting the hotel’s signature cocktails. The hotel has an onsite tailor who can custom create a variety of goods from the vibrant African Kitenge fabrics, sourced from esteemed local artisans. Visiting Kigali’s Genocide Memorial is intense but incredibly worthwhile and is easy to include in a stay here.
