Wayo Manyara Green Camp

Wayo Africa’s Manyara Green Camp is a small authentic tented camp with a beautiful location beside the riverbed at the foot of the Endabash waterfall in Lake Manyara National Park. The camp is set in a wildlife wonderland with numbers of elephant, buffalo and antelope coming to drink from the pools. Giraffe, warthog, baboons, monkeys and even lions can sometimes be spotted from camp.

Accommodation & Facilities

The camp has eight square safari tents, all well-vented and insect-proofed, and simply decorated with comfortable double beds, a bedside table, and solar lighting. An en-suite outdoor bathroom has an eco-composting loo and a bucket shower. Guests can enjoy drinks around the camp fire and the family style meals are taken alfresco on the dry river bed.

Wildlife & Activities

Wayo’s Green camps leave as little an environmental footprint as possible. Camps are 100% solar powered and plastic free. Fruit and vegetables are all purchased locally,  providing income for local communities. Days are typically spent on wildlife drives in the park with Wayo’s expert guides, and shared night drives can also be arranged. Walking safaris along the Lake Manyara lake shore sometimes enable you to see flamingoes up close. Full day hikes to Marang Forest on the top of the escarpment are strenuous but very rewarding. Late afternoons are often spent climbing up the huge rocks of the waterfall, from where there are stunning views over the forests towards the Lake. Mountain biking, doing a treetop canopy walkway, and village tours can also be arranged here.
