Meru Private Mobile Camp

Meru Private Mobile Camp has a lovely position close to the Bwathorongi River, deep inside Meru National Park to the east of Mount Kenya. The park is dissected by 11 different rivers and streams lined with palms and ficus trees in a semi-arid acacia savannah landscape.

Accommodation & Facilities

This is an authentic style safari camp with up to eight guest tents for a maximum of 16 guests, and is set up specifically to suit each private party.  The tents are set up a good distance apart and are simple, but comfortable, with flush loos and bucket showers. The mess tent has a dining area, a lounge, and a bar. Food is freshly prepared and delicious, and mostly cooked on an open fire.

Wildlife & Activities

The camp is in a beautiful area, and has easy access to all areas within the park. Lion, leopard and cheetah are often seen, as well as large herds of elephant, black and white rhino, lesser Kudu, waterbuck, giraffe, oryx,  Grevy’s and Burchell’s zebra. Fishing can be arranged in the Tana River, as well as the other rivers in the park. Walking can be done with the assistance of KWS rangers (must be pre-booked).
