Olmarei House

Olmarei House is a beautiful private safari villa beside the Mara River in the Enonkishu conservancy in the northwest corner of the Masai Mara. The house overlooks the river and the plains and hills beyond.

Accommodation & Facilities
Olmarei House has three en-suite bedrooms in the main house with two further bedrooms in individual thatched cottages close by in the garden. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and gauze windows, allowing the sounds and breeze of Africa into the rooms, and all open onto shaded verandahs. The house has a big open plan living room and dining room, an open fireplace and a piano. The house also has its own modern kitchen, and meals can be served whenever guests would like. There is a big pool close to the river bank, and a lovely thatched gazebo for enjoying lunches by the river.

Activities
Enonkishu is one of the original re-wilding success stories, having been restored to Masai Mara grassland savannah from wheat growing and cattle ranching country by the Wood family and the local Masai people. Living in harmony with a well managed herd of cattle, the wildlife population on the conservancy is good and is growing all the time, and species such as elephant, lion, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, giraffe and hippo often seen. As the reserve is private, activities can be flexible, and day, night, and all day wildlife drives with a private guide and vehicle, walking safaris, bird walks, village walks, picnics, and cycling on the conservancy are all on offer.
