Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
Some 150 miles south west of Mahé, Desroches Island is the largest of the Amirantes group of islands in the Seychelles. Just three and a half miles long by half a mile wide, this spectacularly beautiful coral island is strewn with coconut trees and ringed by a reef and shallow waters. Children of all ages are welcome.
Accommodation & Facilities
Desroches Island Resort offers the only accommodation on the island and there are many options suitable for families of all sizes, ranging from comfortable suites with private pools and direct beach access at the end of your private garden to the seven bedroom Presidential Villa. Each is just yards from the beach and decorated with a subtle mix of island style and modern comfort including a television, telephone and air conditioning. The resort facilities are completed with a large pool, two restaurants, one of which is on the beach, a bar and a spa.
Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times to suit and there is a 24 hour in-villa dining menu including a kid’s and teen’s menu featuring pasta, chicken breast, catch of the day, beef burger, pizza etc. Babysitting is available (with notice) at €30 per hour with a minimum of two hours. There is a maximum of two children allowed per babysitter. All the babysitters undergo a first aid course in child care.
Activities
During a stay on the island, guests can swim, snorkel, deep sea and fly fish and take sunset boat trips. Scuba divers can explore the exciting fringing coral reef and wall known as the ‘Desroches drop’. Tennis, kayaks, sailing and windsurfing are also available. More energetic guests can explore the island by bicycle.
Specifically for children …..
There is an on-site kid’s club with playground and play pavilion open from 9am to 5pm for kids aged four to 12 years old. Children below the age of four years are also welcome to attend but they need to be accompanied by a parent. To keep teenagers entertained there is a selection of DVDs, board games and books, as well as a gaming console. ‘Kids for all Seasons’ offers lots of activities under the supervision of the trained Kids for all Seasons team. Activities on offer include:

• Pizza and cookie baking.
• Tree planting.
• Fashion week.
• Discover yoga.
• Cycling – there are bikes and helmets for children aged five and above. Children below five years can use child seats attached to their parent’s bikes.
