Usangu Expedition Camp

Usangu Expedition Camp sits among the trees on the banks of the Usangu wetlands in a largely unexplored 6,000km2 wilderness in the south west of Tanzania’s vast Ruaha National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities
Usangu Expedition Camp is simple and authentic and has just four tents placed on wooden decks, and it is the only camp in this pristine wetland. The tents have gauze sides, shaded verandahs, and en-suite bathrooms with flushing loos and plumbed in showers. Meals are cooked on the open fire and often enjoyed under the African stars. The camp has a mess tent with a bar and lounge, and a dining table.

Wildlife & Activities
Usangu Expedition Camp offers exclusive access to the remote south-western corner of the vast Ruaha National Park, and provides an immersive conservation focused safari experience. The activities offered include boating, day and night wildlife drives, conservation research at the Douglas Bell Eco Research Station, and walking safaris led by highly experienced guides.
