Okahirongo Elephant Lodge

Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is set in the Purros Conservancy in northern Namibia, about 55km from the Skeleton Coast and around 200km south of the Kunene River.  Often described as one of Namibia’s last true wilderness areas, the Kaokoveld is home to the nomadic Himba tribe as well as desert adapted elephant, lion, black rhino and giraffe.

Accommodation & Facilities
Accommodation at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is in seven luxury double cottages, each with a gazebo and large en-suite bathroom containing a bath tub overlooking the surroundings. There’s an infinity pool, a library and two open air lounges. Cuisine is a delicious Italian-Namibian blend, served in the open boma or airy dining room.

Wildlife & Activities
Activities at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge include day and night nature drives through the lushly vegetated river beds and scraggy mountains. On these drives guests may catch sight of desert adapted elephant, various antelope species, giraffe and possibly black rhino.  Visits to the local Himba village, sundowner cocktails, morning walks and spectacular bush breakfasts can also be arranged during a stay here.
