Wasa Lodge

Wasa Lodge has a lovely peaceful setting beside Lake Wasa, in Kasanka National Park in Zambia. Kasanka is best known for the straw-coloured fruit bat migration in November each year, and is a small but beautiful park with a rich diversity of habitats including miombo woodlands, open dambo grasslands and a network of rivers and lakes.

Accommodation & Facilities

Wasa Lodge has four chalets and three rondavels, all with private verandahs, en-suite bathrooms, and air conditioning. The main lodge has a dining room, bar, a swimming pool, and good views over the lake.

Wildlife & Activities

Wasa National Park has wonderfully varied wildlife and birdlife, and is the best place in Africa for seeing the shy semi-aquatic sitatunga. It’s also the destination for the largest mammal migration on Earth, when 10 million straw coloured fruit bats arrive here in November. Other residents include elephant, buffalo, puku, sable antelope, hippo, Pel’s fishing owl, Ross’s turaco, and wattled cranes. Activities include guided walks around Lake Wasa, using a treetop hide to see the bats, wildlife drives, and the use of several hides.
