Khwai Lediba Camp

Khwai Lediba is a lovely tented safari camp located on the banks of the Khwai River in the Khwai Concession of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The camp is well hidden in a riverine forest and has excellent views across the floodplains into the renowned Moremi Game Reserve.

Accommodation & Facilities

Khwai Lediba has seven safari tents including one honeymoon suite and a family tent with two bedrooms. The tents have an en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, ceiling fans over the beds, and private decks with easy chairs and views across the floodplains from its shaded setting under the trees on the edge of the Khwai River. The central part of the camp has a large main building with a dining area with an open kitchen, a bar with a sunken lounge, and a firepit on an adjacent deck. There is a long pool and shaded loungers on another deck, and a yoga deck. Drinks and meals can be enjoyed al fresco on the deck surrounded by sycamore and leadwood trees, or in the outside boma.

Wildlife & Activities

Khwai Community Concession is excellent wildlife habitat and separated from Moremi Game Reserve by the Khwai River with its resident hippos. Elephants, buffalo, and lions cross the river from time to time, and leopard, buffalo, hyena, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, kudu, red lechwe, and plenty of other species can be seen in the concession. Enjoy day and night wildlife drives, as well as walking and mokoro safaris (depending on water levels). The bird life here is excellent and can be enjoyed in camp as well as on wildlife drives. African Bush Camps Foundation supports empowerment projects in Khwai village, and visits to the village and the pre-school can also be arranged.
