North Island Okavango

North Island Okavango sits on Xuxuga Island towards the north west of the Okavango Delta. Set in an area shaded by mature ebony trees, the camp is surrounded by seasonal floodplains, permanent waterways and open savannah.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp has just three tents, each above the ground on a wooden deck with views across a hippo filled lagoon. The tents have a cooling system above the bed, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, large outside decks and a small pool. For families there is room within the tent for two children on a sleeper couch. In the public area of the camp, there is a lounge and dining area connected by a walkway to the firepit. There is also an outdoor gym and a small library.

Wildlife & Activities
The wildlife is good in this area with large herds of elephant sand buffalo, good numbers of giraffe as well as lions, hyena, leopard and wild dogs. Guests staying at North Island Okavango can enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife drives and mokoro excursions. Boating is subject to water levels and offered year round if the rainfall has been good. Fishing is possible between 1st March and 31st December. Scenic helicopter flights can also be arranged for an additional cost.
