Savute Safari Lodge

Savute Safari Lodge is a traditional thatched safari lodge set in a pretty location on the banks of the Savute channel, in an area renowned for its population of bull elephant and for the unique interaction of the resident predator species.

Accommodation & Facilities

Accommodation at Savute Safari Lodge is in 12 chalets crafted from local timber, each elegantly furnished in neutral tones to complement the natural surroundings. The rooms have large private decks, a combined bedroom and lounge, and an en-suite bathroom. There is a sitting area with numerous comfortable sofas, a library and a stylish bar, all of which are located in the two storey thatched main building. The lodge boasts an impressive shaded viewing deck which takes full advantage of the panorama and the Savute Channel which is a short distance from the lodge. The lodge features an open kitchen where guests can watch meals being prepared, an al fresco dining area, and a swimming pool with views over the waterhole.

Wildlife & Activities

The Savute area is known for its large elephant population, a large zebra migration, herds of buffalo, lion and hyena, cheetah, giraffe, and wildebeest. Wildlife viewing at Savute Safari Lodge is centred around drives in open 4×4 vehicles within the Savute area, including the famous Savute Marsh. Guests can also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock painting at Gubatsa Hills – a small rocky outcrop which stands out on this otherwise flat landscape.
