Camp Xakanaxa

Camp Xakanaxa overlooks the Khwai River, deep inside the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The camp has a beautiful setting in the shade of a large grove of ancient riverine forest.

Accommodation & Facilities
Camp Xakanaxa has 12 large safari tents on raised platforms, all tastefully furnished and with en-suite bathrooms and shaded verandahs at the front that have views across the channel. One tent has two bedrooms, ideal for a family with up to three children. The camp has a large main deck that has a dining room, a lounge, library, and a bar under two separate thatched roofs, all looking over the river. The camp fire is on a deck out over the water, reached by a walkway. There are two pools, one of which overlooks the Okavango waterways.

Wildlife & Activities
Thanks to good water and food supplies, this beautiful area has abundant wildlife year-round including elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, hyena, zebra and wildebeest. In addition to drives in open safari vehicles, Camp Xakanaxa is one of the few camps in the area that offer year round boating trips. Activities are led by professional, conservation-aware guides. There is also excellent bird watching, and the chance to do some seasonal fishing.
