Joy’s Camp – now closed

** Joys Camp has now closed.  Other camps in the area you might consider are Saruni Rhino and Elephant Watch Camp.**

Joy’s Camp is in Northern Kenya’s rugged Shaba National Reserve approximately 200 miles to the north of Nairobi. The reserve is famous for the work of George and Joy Adamson and the camp is situated at Joy Adamson’s original campsite.

Accommodation & Facilities
Joy’s Camp consists of ten large Bedouin Somali style tents all with en-suite facilities. Each tent has its own deck overlooking the camp’s own natural spring, which has become the area’s main watering hole.

Wildlife & Activities
The camp has a beautiful swimming pool where guests can relax in great comfort. Activities include day and night game drives, escorted bush walks, bush breakfasts, sundowners and cultural visits. Shaba National Reserve is home to many species of endemic desert adapted wildlife, including Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, and lesser kudu, as well as leopard, lion and herds of elephants.
