Swimming pools in the Masai Mara
We’re often asked if it’s possible to stay at a camp in Kenya’s Masai Mara where there’s a swimming pool. Twenty years ago there were very few camps we could have suggested but today there is a lovely selection scattered across the plains of the Masai Mara and adjoining private conservancies.
Here’s where you can find camps with a swimming pool in the Masai Mara:
Sala’s Camp – Under canvas safari experience with contemporary comfort. Secluded location beside the Sand River on the southern edge of the Mara in an area teeming with year-round wildlife.
Naboisho Camp – Extensive range of safari activities thanks to its setting on the private Naboisho Conservancy and particularly well known for superb guiding.
Ol Seki Mara Camp – Pretty tented camp in the private Naboisho Conservancy. Large local lion population and impressive numbers of elephant and giraffe
Mara North Conservancy
Mara and Acacia Houses – These two houses, tucked away in the private Mara North Conservancy, are perfect for families or small groups travelling together. Exclusive use so guests are free to design their own itinerary.
House in the Wild and villas – Family owned boutique lodge in the Enonkishu Conservancy. Laid back luxury accommodation perfect for privacy and adventure. Private villas Amani and Jamani House offer further options on this lovely private estate.
Angama Mara – Perched on the edge of an escarpment the striking design makes the most of some stunning views. Superb wildlife and a good spot for the wildebeest migration.
Bateleur Camp – Classic and intimate in a private corner of the Masai Mara guests explore by vehicle and on foot in an area rarely traversed by others.
Kichwa Tembo – A luxurious camp, contemporary in feel with sophisticated, stylish interiors set in a private concession with abundant iconic wildlife.
Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp and Bush Villa – Atmospheric camp and villa evoking the safari spirit of years gone by. Elegant setting, excellent guiding, amazing views and prolific wildlife in a private setting in the east of the Mara.
