South Africa is go!

Short trip
Overnight flights direct from London to Cape Town mean you can leave your desk one evening and arrive in Cape Town for a late breakfast the following morning.  There’s barely any time difference so it’s a great choice for an unusual long weekend away.  The Silo is a fabulous hotel in the heart of Cape Town, just a stone’s throw from the V&A Waterfront making it a perfect base from which to exoplore all this great city has to offer.

A week to 10 day trip
South Africa is famous for its incredible wildlife and with a week to ten days, you could combine Madikwe Game Reserve and Marakele National Park – a couple of fantastic reserves an easy drive, or short flight, from Johannesburg.  These little known gems are home to great wildlife and have the added bonus of being malaria free. Madikwe Safari Lodge and Marataba Safari Lodge work as the perfect combination for an unforgettable safari holiday in South Africa.

Two week holiday
With so much on offer, South Africa is often referred to as a world in one country and a two week holiday would allow you to explore some of the highlights.  You might like to begin with some downtime in Cape Town enjoying city sophistication and some of the world’s finest vineyards.  For a complete change of scene, fly direct to the Kruger National Park, home to all of Africa’s iconic wildlife species.  We like to recommend our guests stay in one of the private reserves adjacent to the park itself – there are no fences so the animals have free movement between the two. Have a look at Tanda Tula for a tented property, and Singita Ebony for a lodge based option. Beyond the Kruger, there is wonderful walking in the Drakensburg, Anglo-Zulu battlefields to explore at Fugitives’ Drift, and more safari opportunities at Phinda Private Game Reserve.
