Africa’s beaches -Miavana

The beaches running along the Southern and East African coastline rival any of the best beach hotspots around the rest of the world. Whether you want to go for a fly and flop holidayor are keen to add some R&R to your safari there are options a-plenty. We’ve picked out some great offers from some of our favourite spots.

Zanzibar charm – 20% off

A small enterprise which has blossomed from a simple beach bar to a wonderful boutique hotel, Shooting Star is a magical place; simple, tranquil, barefoot luxury at its best. Accommodation spans villas with pools to comfortable cottages, the restaurant has a long-standing reputation for fine food and the beach is simply picture perfect. It’s owner-run too – by the couple who founded it in the early 1990s – and guests are treated like family at this beautiful slice of paradise.

Beach and bush classic – save £1,000

Combining safari and beach is an absolute safari classic and this one, partnering an unspoilt natural wilderness and a Robinson Crusoe experience, is a corker. You don’t have to stray far from Siwandu Camp in southern Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) to spot elephant, hippo, lion, buffalo, myriad birds and a wealth of plains wildlife. Swapping land for sea, the palm-fringed, powder-white sand of Fanjove Island hosts just six bandas. Stylish, simple and comfortable, they are completely in keeping with the unpretentious vibe and the perfect base from which to explore the island, its shores and seas.

Enchanting Mozambique – have a night on us

Island lovers will be captivated by the deserted beaches, sunny days, glittering seas and star studded nights at Azura Benguerra. Just 20 villas with chic interiors and private pools hug the shoreline, and the dedicated team are on hand to organise everything from diving and snorkelling to tailored menus and spa treatments. Combines brilliantly with a safari in Southern Africa.

It’s a perfect addition to a safari in Zambia.
