Kariega Main Lodge

Kariega Main Lodge is a comfortable safari lodge located in the 10,000 hectare Kariega Reserve in the malaria free Eastern Cape. The lodge has been expertly integrated with the surrounding bush, nestling on top of a hillside with views across the Kariega River Valley.

Accommodation & Facilities
The Main Lodge has 21 log chalets. All chalets are en-suite with a shower and bath and have double/twin king size beds. Chalets are air-conditioned, with a lounge and fireplace offering satellite television and tea and coffee facilities and opening onto a private viewing deck (some have a plunge pool) with views of the valley below. The lodge offers a relaxed and friendly environment where guests can enjoy traditional meals in the restaurant or boma, a drink at the bar, or a swim in the pool.

Wildlife & Activities
Kariega Main Lodge offers a range of activities. Twice daily game drives – morning and afternoon, cruises on the Kariega River, safari walks in the predator free eastern section of the reserve, canoeing down the Bushmans or Kariega Rivers and fishing (own equipment is required). There is a wellness centre available to all lodges within the reserve (additional charge).
