Loldia House

Part of one of Kenya’s oldest farms, Loldia House is on the shore of Lake Naivasha, with stunning views of Mount Longonot, a dormant volcano on the far side of the lake. Lake Naivasha, at 6,000 feet above sea level, is the highest of seven lakes along the Great Rift Valley with no obvious outflow. Water pours in from the rainfall on the surrounding land, while a high level of evaporation keeps levels fairly constant. Despite this the lake has freshwater.

Accommodation & Facilities

The main building at Loldia House was once a private farmhouse. The nine rooms, taking up to fourteen guests are either in this house or in cottages in the gardens. The rooms all have en-suite bathrooms, and most have authentic and original furniture and fireplaces for a traditional feel. Some meals are served on the lawn on which hippos graze at other times, and the House has a lovely dining room, a lounge, library and bar, and the pool has beautiful views of the lake.

Wildlife & Activities

Loldia House offers a range of activities include boat trips, fishing, and exceptional bird watching on Lake Naivasha, visits to the nearby Lakes Elementeita and Nakuru to see the flamingos. Night drives, guided walks on the large estate, and visits to local wildlife reserves and Hell’s Gate National Park with its stunning canyons, hot springs and wildlife are also available.
