Londolozi Founders Camp

Set in the world famous Sabi Sands private game reserve, the exclusive 7,000 hectare Londolozi Private Game Reserve offers exceptional wildlife viewing. Built close to the site where founders Charles Boyd Varty and Frank Unger lit their camp fire in 1926 the Londolozi camps are now run by their grand-children and great grand-children. With five camps to choose from there is one to suit most tastes and whichever you select you can be assured of luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and superb guiding. The group has been a member of Relais Chateaux since the early 1990s. Children of six years and over are welcome at Founders Camp.

Accommodation & Facilities
The ten chalets that comprise Founders Camp sit in the shade of ancient ebony and matumi trees along the banks of the Sand River. The rooms are decorated in a classic safari style complete with deep leather couches and military chests. Each has an outside deck, with a private pool/jacuzzi, which is a perfect spot from which to view the resident game as it comes to the river. Three of the ten chalets have been designed with families in mind with a convertible children’s room and can accommodate up to two children under the age of 12. As well as these three rooms, chalets 6 and 7 are connected by a glass sky walk which works well as an option for families travelling with slightly older children. Other facilities include a bar, restaurant, gym and small spa.

Eating & Sleeping
Children can have separate meal times and chefs will discuss with parents each day what they would like to eat.

Wildlife & Activities
While at Londolozi guests can view some of Africa’s most impressive wildlife, particularly its famous leopards, on morning and evening game drives, or on bush walks. The guides and trackers at Londolozi are some of the best on the continent, and really add to the quality of a stay at the camp. Sleep-outs, adventure picnics, astronomy lectures, yoga and massages can also be arranged.
