Roca River Camp

Roca River Camp has a lovely position beside the iconic Mara River in Kenya’s spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is on the edge of a secluded patch of forest with views across the river of the Mara Triangle and the Ololo Escarpment. The owners, Ross and Caro Withy, host guests during their wildlife adventure.

Accommodation & Facilities

Roca River Camp has 10 authentic walk-in safari tents spaced out along the river bank and in the edge of the forest with views of the plains beyond. The tents have lovely hand-made furniture, woven rugs, en-suite bathrooms with bucket showers and flush loos, and a shaded seating area at the front. The camp has a mess tent with a dining room, lounge and bar, and an al fresco dining table and camp fire.

Wildlife & Activities

The forest, Musiara marshes. and Paradise Plains are some of the finest wildlife habitat in Africa, and lions, leopard, cheetah, black rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and huge numbers of antelopes can be seen here, often with a surprising degree of ease. When the great wildebeest migration arrives the volume of wildlife multiplies to an astonishing extent. Wildlife drives in open vehicles across the Masai Mara are the best way to see the wildlife, and additional activities on offer include meeting local communities, meals in the bush, walks, bird watching, and, for an extra fee, balloon flights.
