Tswalu Loapi

Tswalu Loapi is a luxurious and exclusive tented camp located in the Tswalu Kalahari Reserve in South Africa. This private wildlife reserve spans over 460 square miles on the edge of the Kalahari desert, making it one of the largest privately owned wildlife reserves in the country. Loapi Tented Camp is situated at the foot of the Korannaberg mountains, offering breathtaking views of the open savannah grasslands that surround it.

Accommodation & Facilities
The camp features six individual one and two bedroom exclusive use glass and canvas safari homes, which operate as private villas. They are sustainably designed and environmentally sensitive, with deep, shaded decks, environmentally friendly plunge pools, and fire pits for sundowners and early morning coffee. The bedrooms are cocoon-like sanctuaries under canvas, providing exceptional comfort and insulation from the Kalahari’s extreme temperatures. The villas provide personal service from dedicated butlers and chefs, and a private safari vehicle, guide, and tracker. In-room spa treatments are also available.

Wildlife & Activities
Tswalu Loapi offers a range of activities for guests to enjoy, among which are guided walks across the stunning, silent red dunes, private wildlife drives in open-sided safari vehicles, bird-watching, star-gazing, rhino tracking, and exciting visits to the habituated meerkat dens of Tswalu. Guests can also experience close encounters with wildlife on private horse rides, exciting sleep outs under the Kalahari stars, dinner at an amazing restaurant operated by South Africa’s first Michelin starred chef, or a helicopter tour around the reserve to other places of interest nearby. This lodge provides guests with a unique opportunity to explore the breathtaking natural beauty of the Kalahari while enjoying the utmost luxury and privacy.
